BrainChip launches an AKD1500 Raspberry Pi 5 kit for low-power, always-on AI

According to New Electronics, BrainChip introduced a development kit that pairs a Raspberry Pi 5 with the AKD1500 M.2 accelerator board. The AKD1500 uses an event-driven neuromorphic architecture: the company says it processes only significant events rather than every data point, cutting energy use for always-on monitoring, and supports on-device learning so models can be updated in the field without cloud retraining. BrainChip stresses that the same chip used in development can go into the final product.
